36 Vol. 1 - Home On the Hill / NZ
36 is a digital zine series with name relation to the good ol’ fashioned 35mm film roll. Akin to a roll of film, the goal with 36 is to exhibit a story, to provide value, to be brief but beautiful, and to capture the essence of the subject at hand.
A zine is, in the most simple sense, a short form book made to display artwork. I have taken liberties by choosing to include informational material.
In Vol. 1, we spend time in New Zealand, wandering through the backcountry, until we arrive at our Home on the Hill. This is an ode to the huts scattered all throughout the country.
You can expect:
40 original photographs taken all throughout New Zealand’s South Island.
Information about the history of the huts, as well as best practice while accessing them.
Three guides for some of my favorite huts that I’ve visited. This includes all the information you need to see them for yourself.
A brief breakdown of my photographic approach.
As there are quite a few high resolution photographs included, each zine can be between 50mb and 200mb. Therefore, if you are downloading on an older device, you can expect it to take a little time.
All I can say is thank you! By purchasing this zine, you are directly supporting my passion for photography and storytelling. Moreover, you are helping me take another step towards making this a sustainable career.
Cheers!
